- Buyer Registration
To purchase textbooks or other materials on EXBU.com you
have to complete a free and easy registration. To do this you would
click on the button "Register" in the upper left corner
on the Home Page.
This registration has 3 stages:
1. Personal Information - Your are prompted to Enter information about
yourself. All information will be held secure and private. EXBU.com
will not release your email address, or any other personal information
to anyone.
2. Terms - In this section you are given the term agreement. You must
accept these term of use of EXBU.com to complete your registration.
Please read carefully the term of the agreement as well as our privacy
policy.
3. Email Confirmation - Site administrator sends an email message
to the email you provided in the "Personal Information"
section of the registration. You are prompted in the email message
to click on the link. After you have clicked on the link, your registration
will be complete and you will revive a message about the completion.
You can, at any time during the registration, go to a previously
completed section by clicking on a link to that section located on
the left side under Registration.
YOU MAY ONLY REGISTER ONE TIME WITH THE SAME ADDRESS AND/OR EMAIL.

- Choosing User ID & Password
Choose a User ID that is easy to remember. You may want
to associate it with something personal to you. To make your User
ID easy to remember, you may want to use an ID that you have used
in another web site registration. YOUR USER ID WILL NOT BE CASE SENSITIVE.
When choosing a password try to stay away from using things that
are personal to you. It is easier to pick a "personalized"
password. Try to select a password that will be easy to remember,
will contain both numbers and letters. YOUR PASSWORD WILL BE CASE
SENSITIVE, SO MAKE SURE TO REMEMBER wHiCH LeTtERs ARE CAPITAL AND
WHICH ARE NOT!!!

- Changing your personal information & password
Changing your personal information is fast and easy. Here
are the step you should take.
1. Login to the web site.
2. Click on the My Account Button
3. Click on the Account Settings link (located on the left hand side)
4. Scroll down if necessary and click on the Change My Account Settings
button
5. Enter your new information
6. Click on the Change button at the bottom of the page
You account information would be updated immediately.
* Please note that if you change your email address, you will be asked
to verify it. The account will still be active, however if the email
is not verified within 10 days the account may be closed.

- Search Page
You can either click on the "SEARCH" button,
located at the top of the page or on the "Advance Search"
link located on the bottom of the search line on each page to go to
the advance search page. On this page you may choose to narrow down
your search and view the results in a specific order. Here are the
options you have on this page:
1. Search by categories - searching in for all the items matching
your description in a certain category, such as searching only in
textbooks or class papers.
2. Item location - searching for all the items matching your description
that are located in a particular state.
3. Sort by lowest price - results of your search will be displayed
starting with the lowest price.
4. Sort by Highest price - results of your search will be displayed
starting with the highest price.
5. Sort by Newest listing - results of your search will be displayed
starting with the latest listings.
6. View results => seller will exchange in school - Results of
listings of items whose seller will ONLY exchange in school will be
displayed.
7. View results => seller will ship - Results of listings of items
whose seller agrees to either ship or exchange in school
View results => seller will ship - Results of listings of items
whose seller agrees to either exchange in school or ship the item.

- Searching from search bar
EXBU.com was designed to enable our Users to search from
any page on the web site. The search line is located in the upper
right corner of the page. You can search by any of the following criteria:
- Title (i.e. textbook title)
- Class Name
- Author
- ISBN
- Class Reference number (i.e. ENC1101)
- Subject
- Item Number
The search results will be presented to you in the following manner:
1) Items matching your search found in your school
2) Items matching your search found in other schools
All of the results will be shown in the price & date ascending
order. (i.e. lowest price first and newest listings first)

- Search Tips
- Try incomplete titles - Sometimes seller may input an incomplete
item title, so try imputing the first one or two words of the title
- You can also input a subject or class name. However, not all sellers
will select the class name or subject when listing their book. Also,
you may get results other than what you're looking for, but which
have that word(s) in them.
- You can also input a class reference number (i.e. ENC1101). However,
not all sellers will select the reference number of the class.
- Try inputting different values in the search a few times, such as
book title, partial title, class name, subject, reference number,
ISBN or author.
- You may also click on the category, that the item you're searching
for would belong to, and browse the items located in that category.
Each category is divided into subcategories, to make browsing easier.

- What if I don't find what I'm looking for?
If you do not find the item you are looking for you will be prompted
to either search again or place the item on your waiting list. If
you do decide to place the item on the waiting list you will be asked
simple information about the item, so we can better match it to the
newly listed items. Also, if when searching for a book you find one
that is of a different edition, you will be able to place the edition
you're looking for on your waiting list. As soon as an item matching
your description is listed you will be notified via email.

- Making an offer
EXBU.com is designed to act as a marketplace for the buyer and
seller. Hence buying process is exactly the same as on the marketplace.
A seller list an item at a certain price. You, as the buyer, will
make an "Offer" to the seller, at which price you are willing
to buy this item. You will also be asked the duration of time you
want this offer to be active.
* Please note: Once you have made an Offer, you WILL NOT be able
to change the amount of the offer until the expiration date of this
offer. However, you will be able to change the expiration date. Expiration
date cannot be less than 24 hours.

- What happens after I make an offer?
" If your offer is equal to the "Asking Price"
the sale is completed.
" If your "Offer" is less than the "Asking Price"
the sale may or may not be completed at that time. The seller may
elect to set a minimum acceptable offer (see Selling on EXBU.com).
" If your offer is equal or greater to the minimum acceptable
offer set by the seller, the sale is completed.
" If your offer is less than minimum acceptable offer, you offer
will be automatically rejected.
* Please be aware, that once your offer is automatically rejected,
you cannot make another offer for next 24 hours.
" If your offer is less than "Asking Price and seller did
not elect to set a minimum acceptable offer, the seller will receive
an email with your offer and the expiration date of your offer.
Seller will have to accept before the expiation date of the offer
to complete the sale.
If seller does not respond in time, you as a buyer may choose whether
to complete the sale.
" The seller may also send you a "Counter Offer", another
proposed price, to which you would have certain length of time, indicated
by the seller, to respond.
Seller may also reject your offer. In this case you can immediately
make another offer.
* Please be aware, that some sellers may elect to not respond to your
offer. In this case you can either wait until the offer expires or
change the expiration date of the offer to next day and then make
another offer. It pays to be patient, so if you want to save money
you may want to wait an extra day or so for seller's response before
making another offer.

- Tracking you offers
List of your offers is located under My Account => Offers
/ Waiting List
1. Click on My Account (at the top of the page)
2. Click on Offers / Waiting List (on the left hand side of the page)

- Can I change my offer?
Your offer consists of the amount you're willing to pay
and the date until which the offer will remain valid (Offer Expiration
Date). You can change the expiration date any time you wish. However,
offer cannot expire in less than 24 hours after it has been initiated.
You CANNOT change the amount of your offer until offer expires. However,
under the following conditions you will be able to submit a new offer:
1. Offer is automatically rejected by the minimum acceptable offer
set by the seller. => a new offer can be made in 24 hours
2. Offer is rejected by the seller => a new offer can be made right
away.
3. Counter Offer is made by the seller => you may accept the counter
offer or make a new offer right away.

- What happens after the sale is complete?
Once the sale has been completed, You (buyer) and the seller
have now entered into a binding contract for the sale of the item.
Both you, as a buyer, and the seller will receive emails from EXBU.com
containing each other's email addresses. You will have to contact
each other to agree on the exchange location and payment. Please see
Getting your book or paper.

- Paying for your item
You have many different options on how you want to pay,
depending on the seller's choices to accept certain payments. We recomend
to use PayPal where available, if you are going to pay upfront for
your item. Otherwise, you can pay at the time of the exchange.

- Waiting list for items
If you do not find the item you're looking for, you can
place it on a waiting list. Once this item is placed for sale on EXBU.com,
you will be notified via email.

- Getting your book or paper
There are basically three ways you can receive the item
you've purchased on EXBU.com.
1. You meet with a seller and make the exchange, item for money.
2. In case of paper, project or other item, which is available in
electronic format, it can be sent via email.
3. The seller can ship the item if both buyer and seller agree on
this arrangement.
*NOTE: When choosing a meeting place with another user, always choose
a public place. For example library or a book store entrance. Try
to meet during daylight hours.

- Choosing your category
We try to make it easy for the sellers to properly list their items
so that the buyer can easily find them, even if they do not have completeinformation.
The items are listed in categories to help accomodate that. Textbook,
Class Papers & Other Material has the option of being listed in
a category for a particular class in your school. To help you select
the categories we included a search where you can either enter a name
of class or its reference number and the proper category will automatically
be selected.
For books, you are given a choice of categories that will clasiffy
your book in a particular genre.

- Listing your item Step by Step
1. Selcet the type of iten and proper category
2. Fill out Title, Author, ISBN, Description of the item (where applicable)
and other relavant information
3. Indicate your price and other details
4. Select accaptible type of payment and exchange arrangement
5. Review your listing and submit it.

* Note: While listing your book you may go to any Step of the process,
forward or backward, by clicking on the step's title and number, located
in a column on the left of your screen. You may also use the Back
button on the buttom of the screen to review and edit previouse selections.

- Tracking items you're selling
It is very easy to keep track of the items you are selling.
To do this you simply login, go to My Account section of the site
and click on Selling List, located in a column on the left side of
your screen.
By clicking on each individual item you will be able to view a page
that contains information about offer that you have received on this
item and counter offers that you have made. This page will also show
all the times and date of all activites related to this item.

- Offers, Counter Offers & Buy Now
Any offer that you receive, you may either accept, decline
or make a counter offer. Offers you receive on the item(s) you have
for sale will have a deadline, after which you will no longer be able
to accept this offer. An offer will also indicate how many items,
in the case when you are selling multiple items, the user wishes to
purchase.
By Accepting the offer you enter into a binding agreement with the
buyer. Where both parties agree to complete the transaction for the
specified item for specified price.
If you decide to Decline an Offer you will not be able to turn the
clock back and accept it later on. Neither will you be able tocontac
the person who sent this offer. To decline an offer, either clcik
Decline (see instructions below) or simply ignore it and let the offer
expire. Once an offer has expired, same rules apply as when an offer
is declined.
You may also send a counter offer to the buyer. This in effect declines
the offer sent to you by the buyer, all rule regarding declining of
an offer apply, and sends the buyer your offer, i.e. the amount that
you agree to sell your item for. If the buyer accepts this offer,
you are bound by a legal contract to complete the transaction.

- Accepting & Declining Offers and making Counter Offers
To accept, decline or make a counter offer:
1. clink on My Account
2. click on Selling List
3. click on the link of the item that you're selling
4. scroll down and choose the offer that you wish to accept, decline
or make a counter offer on.
*(the best offer that you have received will be at the to of the list,
highlighted)
You will also have a link that will take you derectly to this page
sent to you in email when an offer has been made on an item that you
have for sale.

- Sending Invoice to the Buyer

- Exchange
You will have to indicate, when initially listing your
book, how are you willing to deliver your item as well as in which
for would you accept payment for this item.
You may exchange in school, ship the item or be willing to do both.
There are several available options for payment acceptance.
After the sale is compelete you and your buyer will have to make
arrangements on both of these matters. We recomend:
- Meeting in school or other public place to exchange or deliver the
item. (this save the buyer extra costs of shipping and makes the transaction
much simpler
- Accpeting PayPal payments. A buyer will be able to pay right away,
plus have a piece of mind that he or she will receive the goods that
were promised.
- Beware of buyer that want to pay with a personal check at the time
of the exchange. If you do not know this person, we recomend to ask
for cash or other form of payment, such as money order or PayPal payment.
* Try to be understaning of each other's concerns and make the exchange
as convinient for the both of you as possible.

Offer / Waiting List button on the left. In the My Offers table you
can edit your offer (offer amount & duration) by clicking on the
link to the item you've made an offer on. In the Waiting List table
you can edit or delete the items that you are waiting on.

- Selling Lis
To view and edit the items you have for sale, click on
My Account, then click on Selling List on the left side of the screen.
You can edit the description or stop the sale of any of your items
by clicking on the link with the item's title.

- Bought / Sold
To view the items you have bought or sold, click on My
Account, then click on Bought / Sold on the left side of the screen.
You can view full details of the item by clicking on the link with
the title of the item.

- Peer Evaluation
In this secion you can view your evaluations left by other
users, as well as evaluate other EXBU.com users that you have had
transactions with. Please be sure to evaluate each user that you have
had a transaction with. This will help your peers in further dealings
on the site, as well as keep everyone honest.

To change your account settings, such as your personal
information -> Name, Address, Phone number, High school, College,
Phone number, Date of birth and Email. You may also change you Password
and Credit Card information.
